Tailgating Fun

This is my second post for the day.  To see the Shopping Our Stash challenge post, please scroll down.

It's time again for another fun challenge at {Pin}spirational.  We DO have a fun photo for your inspiration today too.  Be sure and check out all the creations by the DT and then enter your creation for a chance to win a fun prize package by out sponsor, Pink Cat Studio!!!

This image was provided by Pink Cat Studio (who has the most wonderful images) for our challenge and after looking at the photo I decided these cute little owls were heading off to a tailgating party.  Nothing is more fun than tailgating - by the time you're through making all the rounds at one, you really don't care if you watch the football game or not!  LOL!  It was a fun card to create although I very seldom make a card in yellow and orange!  I even tried to do one of the little banners on here - never done one of those before.

These are so yummy looking.......and you can get inspiration from sports, colors, circles, cupcakes, or just whatever!  Oh, and don't forget to enter you creation in our {Pin}spirational Challenge!

Oh, and before I forget, {Pin}spirational Challenges is having a DT CALL!!!!  We're expanding - head over to the blog and check out all the details for applying!  This is a great design team and so much fun!

I'll do my best to get another post up before Friday - but if not.....be warned....another Funny Friday is on the way!!!

Thanks for stopping by........

Flower Power for SOS

Good morning!!  Our challenge at Shopping Our Stash begins today and we want to see some FLOWER POWER!!  Use your handmade or 3-D flowers!  It can include stamped images but must also have at least one handmade or 3-D flower you bought on it.  Be SURE and use that stash!!

Again, I used one of the poinsettia's I picked up at the Dollar Store last year.  They were with the Christmas goodies and they're just the right size to put on a card.  The ribbon is some that was given to me a while back and I've never used it before....and the Merry Christmas sentiment is from a very old SU set.  I wanted to make this card look like a Christmas package.....um.....surely someone out there can see the resemblance!  But, no matter, since it made a quick and easy card for the holidays!

Head on over to the Shopping Our Stash challenge and submit your entry.

I'll be back in a few minutes with my {Pin}spirational Challenge post.

Thanks for stopping by........

Autumn Leaves

A quick card to enter in three challenges today!  I'm usually doing good to get something entered in one challenge, so three was a challenge to ME!!

I used my only leaf set of stamps I own - from CTMH.  I really need to do something about that though like maybe go on a shopping spree!  Sounds good, right!  The background around the leaf was done with Flores Suaves from SU.  All was completed using Kraft, Cajun Craze, and white card stock.  Now, you see those three little "things" above the sentiment.....I call them "things" since I really don't know exactly what you call them.  They're not gems or pearls, but they stick on - so, "things"!  LOL!  Next you're probably asking why I put them above the sentiment and not below.  I mean everyone puts things like this below, not above.  But, I always say - dare to be different!

I'll enter this in the challenges at CAS(e) This Sketch (sketch), CAS-ual Friday (Kraft), and Simon Says Stamp Challenge (Leaf).

Too Many Monkeys

This is an old CTMH image from a set called Wild Thing.  I really think the only reason I bought this set was because of this little monkey image.  It's a small image but I just loved the guy.  I've had the set close to forever and never even used it!

The hardest part of this was getting all the monkeys lined up in a straight line!  BUT, I stuck with it, so here you go!

Since the challenge at CASology is "Wild", I'll enter this in their challenge.

Special Post For DTD

This is such a very special post for me today!  Several weeks ago, I was contacted by the Dude Time Doodles design team asking if I'd like to use one of their new release images and post a card for their blog today.  Of course I jumped at the chance.  Some of you may remember that I was on the Dude Time Doodles design team for quite a long time - and dearly loved each and every minute of it!  (I miss all you ladies (and gent, Kevin) but you know I'm never too far away).  So, a big "thank you" to Boni, Tammy, Anne, and all the rest of the Dude Time Doodles design team for asking me........such an honor!

I'm going to show you my card - inside and out - but whatever you do, please DO NOT scroll down to the inside until I can explain a little bit........

This is a new release image you can find in the DTD store called The Great Punkin.  I'm not going to go into all the details on this card as it's self explanatory as you can see - but I will tell you about the sentiment.......

I got this cute image colored up and the design for the card all laid out and then tried to come up with a sentiment.    Sometimes I have a pretty weird sense of humor (well, probably ALL the time) and all I could see after looking at this image was that all the pumpkins were resting peacefully in a pumpkin patch and just when the big one started to get himself settled in, he sat on a WHOOPIE CUSHION!!!  LOL!  That's where the mind started to get a little strange........so........here you go..............

Since not everyone may know what a Whoopie Cushion is, I just got down to the basic language here!

Be SURE and stop by the Dude Time Doodles blog today and see some wonderful creations and then check out all the fun images and new releases Boni has in the store - you'll fall in love with them just as I did.  Thank you again ladies (and Kevin) for the new release image and having my card on your blog today!

Thanks for stopping by.........

Pumpkins Galore

This is my second post of the day.......Shopping Our Stash is directly below.

It's almost Halloween, so what would be more fitting than to have a new challenge starting today at {Pin}spirational that will remind you of this time of year!   We're being sponsored by the CardmadFairy who also provided us with fantastic images.  The winner of our challenge will receive a wonderful prize package from them!  Stop by our blog and see all the inspiration from the DT too!

Now hubby has already looked at this card and said he wanted the girl on it.....Geeze....men!!!  This is Jessica from Cardmad Fairy and she really is a cute image.  I sponged in a few clouds behind her, framed her out using an old corner punch, added some orange, black and purple paper and then topped it off with the orange bow and button.

Fun {Pin}spirational photo too - right!!!

I'll enter this in the challenges at Simon Says Stamp (inspiration photo found on their blog) and Come and Get It Challenges (Halloween).

I'll be back again tomorrow with a very special post and you'll get a Funny Wednesday instead of a Funny Friday this week!!!!

Thanks for stopping by.........

Pickled Pumpkin in a Jar

WooHoo....Time for another Shopping Our Stash challenge and we have a FUN one starting today!  Our theme is Out of the Jar - what that means is this......Use anything that came in a jar (flower soft, glitter, perfect pearls, embossing powder, etc) OR use a jar image OR make something using a jar (decorated).  A lot of choices so be sure and play along - and use up some of that stash!!!  Check out the blog for all the inspiration from the DT too!

If you've been following my blog for a while you might remember that in the spring I do a lot of gardening and canning.  I've canned green beans, okra, tomatoes, hot sauce, jelly, pickles, etc.....I've also pickled my share of stuff too - however, I've NEVER pickled pumpkin!  I've never ever canned pumpkin because the fact of the matter is that I HATE pumpkin!!! LOL!   But, I do like these tiny little pumpkins in a jar for fall!  The card stock and DP are from SU, as is the image of the jar and sentiment.  The little pumpkins were part of some old unknown DP that I've had forever.  I cut them out and "placed" them in the jar.  I then stamped the jar image again on some clear stuff that came on a nestie package and placed it on top to give it more of a shine like a real jar would have.  The jar is a fun image to have since you can put just about whatever you want "inside" it!

I'll be back in a few minutes for my {Pin}spirational Challenge post.

Thanks for stopping by..........

Dreaming

No, fall has not hit this part of Texas!  I keep thinking that any day now it will.....but while it's still in the 90's around here, I can only dream.

Just a really quick post to say Happy Fall to all of you that are experiencing it right now!  I used some leaves from Close To My Heart and they were stamped on Very Vanilla.  I then stamped over that with the Sanded background from SU.  The sentiment is a digi and no idea where it came from (if you recognize it, please let me know).  The colors I used - which remind me of fall - were Cajun Craze and Old Olive and some DP from SU.

This is my take on the sketch from Sweet Sunday and I'll enter it in their challenge.  I'll also enter it in the challenge at Mark's Finest Papers for Speedy Fox and Friends (leaves).

I'll be back tomorrow with my {Pin}spirational and Shopping Our Stash post - and then have a very special post on Wednesday.......

Snowing Money

Catchy title - right!  LOL!  Wouldn't that be wonderful if it really did snow a couple of dollars every  now and then!  I guess I'd just have to move up north!!

Well, the "Money" comes from my first card.....this is for the challenge at Art Impressions Stamps and they're asking to see Cash Keepers!  What could be easier with this cute image and sentiment from Paper Smooches.....easy design that I also used on a card last week, a couple of brads, some ribbon....and last but not least - MONEY!  I may just have to give this card to myself now!

From my second card you get "Snow"!  I used the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch, added the big snowflake (die) from Impression Obsession, glittered it up a bit, added a brad with a purple gem in it, and then stamped the CTMH sentiment.  I'll also enter this in the challenge at CAS-ual Friday - over the edge.

Two quick cards - but I also have two more completed for Christmas now!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.........and thanks for stopping by.........

A Couple of Christmas Cards

Just a couple of Christmas cards completed!!

This first one is CAS using a sentiment from SU and some fun DP.   I added some silver cording and did a little scoring.

This started out as a card to enter into some sketch challenge - don't even remember which one it was but it appears it never made it where it was suppose to go.  I kept fiddling around with it and just noticed after taking the photo that the bells aren't spaced just perfect......you get the idea anyway.  I'll also sew those babies on next time.....tried to do it with glue dots and they just keep scooting around on the ribbon.

It just hasn't been very good in the card making department for me this week!

Thanks for stopping by.......

A Little BOO

This is my second post for the day -- see below for the {Pin}spirational Challenge post.

Shopping Our Stash starts another challenge today and our theme is Trick or Treat --  Halloween, Spooky, OR Candy - Dessert theme, food, beverages, etc....Be sure and check out the blog to see all the inspiration from the DT.  Use up some of that stash!

Aren't these little guys precious!  The image is from Chicken Girl Designs...pretty much too cute to spook anyone.  I used some Paper Studio DP, white ribbon colored black, rhinestones, and a part of a sentiment from SU.  All are from my "stash".

I'll enter this in the challenges at A Blog Named Hero (Clean and Simple), All Sorts Challenge (Too Cute to Spook), and Brokenbox Stock (Halloween).

Thanks for stopping by..........

Too Sweet

We're starting another challenge over at {Pin}spirational today - so come on over and play along with us!   We have a sweet {pin}spirational photo for you today and some wonderful creations by the DT.  We're being sponsored by The Digi Garden, who so graciously provided the DT with some images - and if you're selected as the winner of our challenge you can win a great prize package from them.

I think love is in the air after looking at the inspiration photo - and what's not to love about this cute little image.  I colored her up with Copics and used some DP from SU.....added a pink bow and there you have it folks!  I was going to add a tiny pink bow in her hair also, but that seemed a little like over-kill since I already had one on here.

And this is our {Pin}spirational photo of the week.....as I said, love is in the air.

I'll be back in a few minutes with my Shopping Our Stash post....nothing spooky about it!  Stay tuned.......

Thanks for stopping by.......

Sunset

I needed a really quick birthday card for a guy yesterday, so pretty much threw this one together.  VERY basic design and all that - but as I said, I needed it quick!

The image is from Crackerbox Palace and I stamped it in Versa Mark and then heat embossed with black.   I don't have but a couple of the TM Distressed Inks so ended up sponging around it with some SU Daffodil Delight.....added some "rope" (twine) around the image and plopped on the star brad.......A "git er' done" card!

Thanks for stopping by.............If I ever get my mojo going I'll be back more often - as it is, it's lacking big time and I seem to struggle with everything I'm doing.  Plus, life just keeps butting in all the time!

Chunky Santa

I had every intention of getting a few cards made the last couple of days and it just didn't happen!  I did manage to squeeze Mr. Santa in though....CAS and another "git 'er done" card.  I'll try to pop back in sometime over the weekend with at least one card - and maybe a little BS to go along with it!  LOL!  Until then........here's a chunky little Santa for you.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Paper Play Challenges (Simply Cute), Addicted to Stamps and More (CAS), and at Ooh-La-La Creations Challenge (Santa).

Thanks for stopping by..............

Not Too Creepy

This is my second post of the day!  If you're looking for the {Pin}spirational Challenge post, it's directly below.

Time for another Shopping Our Stash challenge!  We have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe one beginning today.  Very easy and just FUN.  Be sure and check out all the creations from the DT to be inspired!

I selected the middle row of the tic-tac-toe board and used Kraft, Ribbon, and a Sentiment.  The big spider and sentiment are an old one from SU and the little spiders are from Studio G.  I had to open that package of stamps as I'd never used it before - and the same thing for the rhinestones.  The very last piece of scrap ribbon was used and then I added the black and white twine.  I popped up the large spider to give it a little dimension.

Thanks for stopping by.............and head on over to the Shopping Our Stash blog!

Funky and Feminine

Beginning today, we start another challenge at {Pin}spirational and have a lovely inspiration picture for you.  We're sponsored this week by Folded Paper - and the winner of our challenge will receive a wonderful prize package from them.

I'll start off by saying I DO NOT LIKE THIS CARD!  I struggle so bad with anything girly and the inspiration photo looks so girly to me.  So, I added the pearls and flowers for the feminine look and that Karen Foster DP for the funky look!  I tried to go with the reddish-orange and pink in the photo.  Anyway.....what you see if what you get here.  Please go by the {Pin}spirational Challenge though and see some wonderful creations by the other members of the DT.

I DO love this jacket in the photo......When I was younger, I had fire engine red hair and my mother would never let me wear orange.  Of course, that's all I wanted to wear!!!  Now that I'm older, the hair is gray, and anything orange looks pretty good on me!  It's a shame I had to get gray hair before allowing myself to wear orange!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure and check out the {Pin}spirational Challenge......

I'll be back in a few minutes with my post for Shopping Our Stash and I'll tell you it's a tad hairy and creepy!

Thinking Of Snow

About the only place I get to see snow is on a card!  Now I know all of y'all up north are groaning since winter is on the way and you probably will get to shovel some of that white stuff soon, but down here in South Texas, we seldom ever see it.  We got a cold front (a "Blue Norther" as we say down here in Texas) through here on Saturday evening, and I swear I'm freezing my buns off!  Granted it only got down in the low 50's last night, but when you're used to 100 degree weather, this is COLD!

This was quick and simple using a Cuddlebug embossing folder and a snowflake die from Impression Obsession.  I mounted all that white on a piece of blue and kraft, glittered up the snowflake a bit, added a big rhinestone brad, and stamped the sentiment.  As I said, quick and simple........but I have another card completed for Christmas.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday and I'll be back tomorrow with my {Pin}spirational Challenge and Shopping Our Stash posts.

Thanks for stopping by........

Chicken Talk

I'm back again with Funny Friday!  Yeah!  Take a look at the chicken - isn't it just the cutest!  Love that expression!

The image is from Crackerbox Palace and you MUST check out their blog and store!  Right now, if you become a follower and comment on either their blog or Karen's blog, you have a chance of winning one of the featured stamps this week!

Back to talking chickens!  Even though we live out in the country, we don't have chickens - thank goodness.  The little chicks are always so cute but the bottom line is that basically they're nasty little critters!  My husband grew up on a farm that had a bunch of chickens and he tells me about having to butcher them, etc....and then every Sunday for lunch, they'd have fried chicken.   Just hearing him tell what all they had to do makes me never want to put a piece of chicken in my mouth again.  Anyway.........a couple of years ago a lady down the road from us had chickens and her dog kept killing them.  Jim stopped by one day and she was complaining about it.  I'm not going to go into what he suggested she do (and she did) to keep the dog from smoking out the chickens - don't want to lose all my followers, but I will say it wasn't cruel - just not pretty.

So, this little chick made the "cut" and didn't get eaten by the dog but she's wondering if she's going to be in the next pot of soup!

Inside..................

I haven't been very chatty the last couple of days and guess I MORE than made up for it today!  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.........so, what's for dinner tonight!!!!!!

Just a Cat

This is exactly how I feel a lot of the time around Christmas!  LOL!  Actually, I love the holiday but it really has a way of getting somewhat hectic too.

This is a stamp from Stampendous that I've had for a while and just love the look of this little guys face!  The sketch is from Merry Monday (Challenge 35) and I'll enter it in their challenge.  I need to kick it up a notch on making cards for Christmas as it's going to be here before we know it!

I love this sketch and will probably use it for cards other than Christmas too.

Thanks for stopping by..........(Not very chatty today for some reason - but will be back before you know it).

Autumn Deer

This is my second post of the day.........Shopping Our Stash post is directly below this one.

It's {Pin}spirational Challenge time again!!!  We're being sponsored by Squigglefly and you could be our next winner of a wonderful prize package!!!!!  Be sure and check out the blog for all the details and then enter into this fun challenge.

I've used an image from a retired SU set called Noble Deer.  Pretty image but I always run into a road blog on trying to color this baby.  BUT, I've tried again using Prismacolor Pencils this time.  Again, did some embossing, added some DP, twine, and a couple of brads.

When the word Fall or Autumn is mentioned around this part of the country, all the men get that gleam in their eye, slap on the camo, get the old hunting license, and get ready for deer season to open.  Seems to me these animals are just way too pretty to shoot!    Since we've got several male relatives having a birthday this month and next, this will be one of the cards for them.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Kaboodles (Colors of Autumn), Cards for Men (Animals) and Paper Pretties (Something for Fall).

All my company is finally gone (thank goodness - LOL!) and I should be back in somewhat full swing in the next couple of days - I was going to say "back to normal", but that seldom happens around here!

Thanks for stopping by..........

Going for the Green

We have another Shopping Our Stash Challenge for you beginning today!  This go-round our theme is Go Green - or - Recycle something!  Be sure and pop over the the challenge blog and see all the creations from the DT.  When you enter, be sure and remember to use up some of that stash!

I decided to recycle something and also go green.  If you follow my blog you'll know I very seldom make a green card.  I must have 20 different shades of green card stock and just seldom use it.  But green is what you get today!  I embossed the light green layer, then added a piece of cardboard that came from a hair dryer box.  The leaves (from Autumn Splendor CTMH) were stamped over the Sanded background (SU).  For my sentiment I wanted to use a sentiment that came with the leaves set that said Falling Leaves.  Somehow I've lost the Leaves and just having Falling.....Grrrrrr....Hopefully it'll turn up somewhere.  SO, I just stamped Autumn for the sentiment and then added the bling.  Oh, I sprayed the image with Smooches - but of course it doesn't show up in the photo..........

I'll enter this in the challenges at Simon Says Stamp and Show (Leaf Inspiration) and Crazy 4 Challenges (Leaves).

Stay tuned and I'll be back in a minute with my {Pin}spirational Challenge post ......deer me........
