Holly Jolly Christmas

I keep telling myself I NEED to get busy and start making Christmas cards!  I get one or two done - and then don't even think about it until about 2 months later.  This is NOT going to work if I want to get them done before the holidays. So I sat down this weekend and MADE myself do one.  Not a lot involved here other than a nice image (SU), coloring, and embossing.  I had to add the gingham bow to give it a little of the country flavor.  Nothing fancy by any means, but another Christmas card is completed.

I found a new blog that's going to get me motivated to make more cards for Christmas now.  I know there are several challenge blogs out there for Christmas but I wanted to try the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge.  This week they're looking for cards for the holidays using ribbon and embossing so I'll enter this in their challenge.

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

Hey Lynn, this image says it all. It needs nothing more, it is so beautiful and the gingham brings out everything so nicely as does the embossing. Your cards stand out because they are not cluttered. CAS is classy for me.

M

This is so classy and elegant Lynn, it really is. Again, you've nailed the colour combo and you have just enough red on here to make it the perfect accent. Great image and I am always in bow envy of you.

I love it, Lynn! That bow is perfect. I found committing to do one Christmas challenge all year long has kept me sticking to it...and despite best intentions this is the first year that's happened :)

Fun stuff! I just did a double take - I think we used the same ribbon on our cards today! ('cept mine was from an old ornament, recyling!) Gorgeous background embossing and such a soft, serene card - perfect!

Lynn, You did a fabulous coloring job on this bird. I love to try to color them, but I never an happy with the end results. Yours is gorgeous. I also love the softness to your holly and berries. The ribbon does give the whole card a down home feel. I will stop over to check out this challenge site. Thanks for sharing.

This is beautiful, Lynn! How funny that I'm just about to post one of my own for this challenge and almost used that same embossing folder. Changed my mind and used a different one instead, but now seeing your card, I almost wish I hadn't. :-D

You KNOW I loved this one. Has all my fav things on it. Birds (and I loved your coloration on this guy), red & white, checks. You say 'nothing fancy', but I have to differ. This one is most elegant - and yes, the gingham added some 'country'. LOVE it! TFS
